IBTM Trends Watch Report Paints a Picture of Opportunity

Posted by SITE Foundation

IBTM’s much anticipated IBTM World Trends Watch report was unveiled in late November to a global audience of meetings and events professionals at IBTM World in Barcelona. The report paints a picture of a changing world but one with myriad exciting opportunities for the meetings and events world to seize.

The annual report, which looks at business, geography and technology, and relates them back to business events, brings together over 25 key sources of existing industry data and interviews with industry luminaries. Compiled and written by Dr. Rob Davidson, Managing Director of MICE Knowledge and Alistair Turner, Managing Director of EIGHT PR & Marketing, it is designed to provide a snapshot of the current state of the industry, as well as a forecast for the year ahead.

One of the trends that this report has identified over the last two years is the growing strength and robustness of the incentive travel industry. This is a sector of the market that, in the past, has been susceptible to global political, economic and environmental developments. But while there have been many challenging developments over the last few years, the sector has continued to prosper. Equally, in terms of businesses trust and confidence in incentive programmes, the incentive travel industry is once again confident as we enter 2019.”
