When Dan Tavrytzky, Managing Director of the DMC Network, wanted to put in place an internal incentive for its employees, he saw the opportunity to attach the program to the SITE Global Conference. This way they could spend time with like-minded industry professionals, benefit from some great education and come back feeling energized to start the new year.
The launch of the program to Vancouver for the 2020 Global Conference is in full swing (after two successful programs that brought winners to Rome and Bangkok, respectively) with the program set up across three tiers in which employees can qualify:
Top Tier includes conference registration for one person and a guest, airfare, accommodations and one of the post tours; Second Tier includes conference registration, accommodations and airfare for the winner and a guest and Third Tier includes conference registration, flight and accommodations for the qualifier.
To qualify, individuals must hit specific revenue targets set for each tier within a certain timeline.
“Because of what we do, we see the business results that come from incentive travel and the Site Global Conference was chosen as a reward since the trip is of incentive quality; it is in a unique destination each year and is a truly motivating event.” said Tavrytzky.
Companies may wonder if it’s a difficult program to set up, but Tavrytzky said linking it to the Global Conference made it that much easier. “You already have access to great marketing collateral to showcase like SITE Global’s videos and interviews with speakers we can use to motivate your team throughout the year.
“There was definite excitement from all partners throughout the year and at the beginning of each year there’s even more excitement when next year’s destination is announced.”
Cindy Hartner, Director of Global Sales from the headquarter team of the DMC Network, won the Bangkok trip this past January (and also won in 2018 to Rome).
''The destination for the SITE Global Conference is such a motivator to me. The ability to go to destinations like Rome and Thailand on such curated trips and bring my husband along is so much fun! The conference itself hits some of my professional goals, as well, by meeting with some of the best thought-leaders in the incentive industry. I’m grateful to the DMC Network for the opportunity to expand my global horizons and invest in myself personally and professionally,” Hartner said.
For Tavrytzky it’s important to practice what you preach in this industry because, he said, “It’s important to look after our partners. Happy partners equal happy team members, which equals happy clients – it’s a domino effect. Each year we look at ways to elevate the experience of our partners in the DMC Network. The SITE Global Conference is an industry event that I always ensure is on my calendar - I have gotten so much out of it both personally and professionally throughout my career with its top educational programming and networking opportunities. So when we looked to launch an incentive program for our partners it seemed like the most natural fit.”
